Did you ever realize that parents, most especially moms have so much to say in just a whole day’s time?  I never thought about how busy my vocals were until I saw this funny video!

Manuel Ramirez, Filipino Writer, My Dad

Last March the 5th, we visited my father’s grave at Himlayang Pilipino.  It was my father’s birthday.  If he were alive, he would have turned 76 years old.  My dad passed away on July 20, 1996 at the age of 64.  It has now been 12 years since he’s been gone.   I still miss him a lot.  He was a strict father, but he was a very, very wise man.  He taught me so many things about life,  that his voice still echoes in my mind every now and then.   On his death anniversary last July, I wrote a post about him entitled "I miss you Dad" where I reminisced a few of my experiences with him when he was still with us.

My father, Manuel Amoranto Ramirez, a.k.a.  "Ram Ramirez", was an amazing writer.    He also used the pen name "Noel Idanan" in some of his creations.  He wrote novels for various Filipino comics.  He used to write for Atlas Publishing, and Graphic Arts Service, Inc., where he was considered one of the “fifteen genius (who) were born to create characters and masterpieces of their craft.”

Dad was also screenplay writer for some movies that made actors like Dolphy, Nino Mulach and Ramon Zamora and Rey Malonzo famous in the field of acting.  Remember the once popular series “Charlie’s Angels”?  My dad wrote the Filipino version, which he called Dolphy’s Angels”, the movie that launched new actresses who also became famous later on, like Carmi Martin, Anna Marie Gutierrez, Liz Alindogan and Yehlen Catral.  I found some of the movies that he had written, enlisted in imdb.com site…

I’M PROUD OF YOU DAD!

Here are some photos we took while we were at the beautiful Himlayang Pilipino Memorial Park…

A Bedtime Story

As far as I can remember, it has to be the usual tradition for a parent to tell a bedtime story to their child before tucking them to bed.  I guess if times change, some traditions change too, as well.  In our case, our 4-year-old, has changed this usual tradition of parents telling kids their bedtime stories.  She is absolutely a little chatterbox whose  talking energy never seems to cease even at the moment she needs to recharge it!  So, instead of us telling her the bedtime story, she prefers to tell us the stories right before she goes to bed!

Here’s a little video I took of our little chatterbox telling her bedtime story to Daddy right before going to bed….

You’ll have to bear with the red spots, though, I took the video with the little camera on our cellphone…

Enjoy!
